Sustainability at Domino

At Domino we recognise the compelling importance of helping to create a more sustainable future  - not only for ourselves in the shorter term, but for our children’s generation and the generations that follow. We appreciate how important it is to look after all of our business assets  - not just the financial ones -  and to positively manage the impact our business activities have on the environment, local and wider economies, people and society.

What sustainability is about for us

For us this means thinking about: how we look after our staff, our customers, our suppliers, and our relationships with local communities; how we can minimise the inevitable environmental impacts from procurement and the delivery of projects; how we ensure that workspace environments contribute to the well-being of our clients and their end-users; how we can put something back wherever we can.

What are we doing to achieve our goals?

Domino is undergoing a transformation of understanding and response to the opportunities and challenges of doing business in a sustainable way. In connection with this we are introducing exciting new services for our customers to help them meet their sustainability objectives, while delivering top quality commecial interior projects. We are setting ourselves a challenge of continuous improvement in this vital area but are proud to acknowledge what we have already achieved:

Looking after staff

Domino has been a certified Investors in People company since 2003. We are pleased to support staff to fulfil their potential through training and day-release programmes, and actively share company success with the whole team. We pay special attention to the health and safety of our staff and contractors, placing the utmost importance on maintaining our excellent record in this area. We are accredited with CHAS, the Contractors’ Health and Safety Assessment Scheme.

Looking after customers

We take the quality and consistency of our work with clients very seriously and are proud to have been accredited with the international quality standard ISO 9001. Domino is a member of both the Association of Interior Specialists and ConstructionLine: we endeavour to always exceed the expectations of quality and client care that come with these accreditations.

Looking after the environment

Domino has embarked on achieving the steps of the environmental management standard BS 8555 and is aiming towards the international standard ISO 14001. We are participating in the Sheffield Eco-Business Programme.

Putting something back into the local community

We like to look for opportunities to contribute to local initiatives in ways that fit with our special expertise and what we do as a company. This has included distributing good, secondhand furniture to charity groups, providing in practical ways for a local homeless project and entering into the spirit of supporting initiatives in our home city of Sheffield. We were delighted to win a best in category prize in the Master Cutler’s Challenge recently/ in 200?
